Privacy Policy

This is The TechWeirdo. The website address is: https://www.techweirdo.net. It is a independent personal tech blog and not associated with any other companies. The main goal is of this blog is to publish original content and not to make tonns of Benjamin’s. So here is a super simple privacy policy of this blog.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics as well as Self-hosted privacy friendly Plausible. You can choose to not give consent to be tracked by Google. But the plausible is self-hosted and doesn't collect any personally identifiable data. It only helps me to see real number of visitors on my site.

Comments

To leave a comment you must be signed in. Which requires you to provide me your email address and the site will send a authentication link to you. I will not use your email to spam you or give your data to any third party. But you should use a privacy email to protect you real email anyways.

Cookies

My site is running on Ghost, which uses cookies to identify if a user is logged in or not. Also I use cookie less analytics. So rest assure I am not giving to extra carbs by sending you cookies.

I may run Google Ads on this site, to offset the cost of running this website. In that case, the ad provider will set other cookies, which I can’t control, but you totally can, thanks to our good friends at EU. Also you can use adblockers too. But in that case, try supporting the site in other ways.

I have also added Google Analytics but don't worry I have proper GDPR compliant cookie policy so you can opt out with a click.

Embedded content from other website

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

I use different technologies to server my site, notably CDNs like Cloudflare or Bunny. This Services also helps mitigating DDOS and other nasty attacks, so they may collect your IP and which browser you are using to seperate malicious traffic. But this data is not used to invade your privacy.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data this site hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that we erase any personal data this site holds about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

The analytics data is not personalized and not stored permanently.

I value your privacy very much and I don’t collect your personally identifiable data. This site comply with EU regulations and as, it doesn’t uses any cookies, it doesn’t ask for your permission for that. When ads are displayed, the ad network will ask cookie permission from you.
